Real Madrid star shares concerns about Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal
Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger has expressed admiration for a rising star from his biggest rivals. In an interview with Inside Scoop, Rudiger praised Barcelona’s 17-year-old sensation, Lamine Yamal, describing his performances as “ridiculous” and acknowledging that the youngster’s potential is “quite frightening.”
Yamal has been making waves in La Liga and the European Championship, with five goals and five assists this season after helping Spain win in Germany. Despite representing Barcelona, his talent has garnered respect from rivals like Rudiger, who was candid in his evaluation.
“He has a bright future ahead of him,” Rudiger said. “I hope he stays healthy. For Barca, at 17… it’s quite scary.”
Rudiger also shared his thoughts on Kylian Mbappe’s influence on Real Madrid’s dressing room. He dismissed concerns, stating, “People thought Kylian would disrupt the team, but he’s a grounded guy. He’s already making an impact, and his chemistry with Vini [Vinicius Junior], Rodrygo, and Jude [Bellingham] is getting stronger.”
Reflecting on his move to Madrid, Rudiger called it a dream come true: “Winning the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 was my ticket to the best club in the world. Madrid doesn’t come knocking often, and I knew I had to seize the opportunity.”
Even in the midst of intense rivalries, players like Rudiger can’t help but recognize the extraordinary talent of a 17-year-old prodigy like Lamine Yamal.
