Victor Osimhen transfer is “highly likely” at 95%.
Victor Osimhen “95% Likely” to Leave Napoli as Man Utd Prepare to Trigger Release Clause
Victor Osimhen is reportedly “95% likely” to leave Napoli this summer, with Manchester United prepared to activate his release clause, according to reports from Italy.
The 26-year-old striker, currently on loan at Galatasaray, is set to return to Napoli at the end of the 2024-25 season but will not remain with the Turkish club permanently, as per Napoli Magazine. The Italian outlet claims there is a strong probability that Osimhen will secure a permanent move away, with Man Utd leading the race for his signature.
United have been actively seeking a new centre-forward following struggles from Joshua Zirkzee, who joined from Bologna for €42.5 million last summer, and Rasmus Højlund, who has yet to justify his €73.9 million price tag. Manager Ruben Amorim has made signing a new striker a priority, with Osimhen emerging as their primary target.
While reports have suggested a possible swap deal involving Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho, Napoli Magazine states that Man Utd are prepared to trigger Osimhen’s €75 million release clause to secure the transfer.
The Nigerian international has been in excellent form for Galatasaray, scoring 20 goals and providing five assists in 25 appearances across all competitions this season. His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €67.2 million.
However, Man Utd are not the only club interested in Osimhen. Paris Saint-Germain are expected to compete for his signature, while Saudi Arabian clubs could reignite their pursuit after attempting to sign him in 2024. Chelsea, who came close to landing Osimhen last year, have reportedly shifted their focus to Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap but could still re-enter the race during the 2025 summer transfer window.
