Match Day 5 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the African zone kicked off on Wednesday evening.
In Group D, Cameroon were held to a surprising 0-0 draw by Eswatini in Nelspruit, South Africa. It was Eswatini’s first point of the campaign after losing their previous four matches.
Despite the draw, Cameroon remains at the top of the group with nine points.
In other action, Tunisia defeated Liberia 1-0, with Hazem Mastouri scoring the only goal in the 4th minute. The win keeps Tunisia at the top of the group with 13 points, while Liberia sits in third with seven points.
In the final match of the day, Madagascar comfortably beat the Central African Republic 4-1, maintaining their position at the top of Group I with 10 points.
