Nadal experiences loss in the final match of his career.

Rafael Nadal was defeated by Botic van de Zandschulp in the Davis Cup Finals, marking the final match of his remarkable career. Van de Zandschulp won 6-4, 6-4, giving the Netherlands a 1-0 lead in their quarter-final tie against Spain. This defeat was only Nadal’s second-ever loss in Davis Cup singles, with his first coming in 2004 during his debut against the Czech Republic.

Following the match, Nadal reflected, “The titles, numbers, they’re there. People probably know that. The way I’d like to be remembered more is as a good person from a small village in Mallorca.”

Over his career, Nadal won 22 Grand Slam titles and played a key role in Spain’s Davis Cup victories in 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2019.
