Marcus Rashford hints at potential Arsenal move amid rising transfer interest.
The festive season is in full swing, and Arsenal are back in action today (Wednesday) as they aim to secure a spot in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
The Gunners will host Premier League rivals Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium in the quarter-finals, with kick-off set for 7:30 pm. Just a few days later, Mikel Arteta’s team will face Palace again, this time in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Saturday evening (5:30 pm kick-off).
Amid the busy fixture schedule, attention is also turning toward the upcoming January transfer window, which opens in two weeks. Arsenal are expected to be active in the market, and transfer speculation is already ramping up.
One name that has emerged is Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. Reports suggest that Arsenal have shown interest in the player, with rumors even hinting at a meeting between Rashford and Arteta. The forward was notably left out of United’s squad for the Manchester derby on Sunday, further fueling speculation about his future.
Speaking to journalist Henry Winter, Rashford addressed his situation and hinted at his readiness for a move:
“If I know that a situation is already bad, I’m not going to make it worse,” Rashford said. “I’ve seen how other players have left in the past, and I don’t want to be that person. When I leave, I’ll make a statement, and it will be from me.
“When I leave, it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings.’ You’re not going to hear any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s just who I am.
“For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”
While it’s unclear whether Manchester United would sell Rashford to a Premier League rival, Arsenal could view this as an opportunity to bolster their squad if a deal is possible.
Rashford, despite his struggles for form in recent seasons, has demonstrated his talent in the Premier League. A fresh start at a new club might help him rediscover his best form, which would benefit both the signing club and the player himself.
