Liverpool nearing new contracts for Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, aiming to finally resolve long-standing negotiations.
Liverpool are on the verge of securing Mohamed Salah to a new contract, with Virgil van Dijk expected to follow suit, bringing an end to months of uncertainty surrounding the pair’s futures.
According to the Daily Mail, the Egyptian forward is close to agreeing a two-year extension with the club, with an official announcement expected soon. Van Dijk also recently confirmed that “progress” has been made in negotiations and is likely to commit his future to the Premier League leaders.
The developments mark a significant step toward ending prolonged speculation around both players. Salah had hinted at a possible exit when his current deal expires at the end of the season, amid reports of a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia. Van Dijk, whose contract also runs down this summer, had been linked with a free transfer exit, but now appears ready to remain at Anfield.
Salah has been in sensational form this season, leading the Premier League in both goals and assists, with 27 goals and 17 assists in 31 appearances.
As Liverpool push for the title, they will be eager to finalize contract extensions for both Salah and Van Dijk. The Reds return to action on Sunday as they host West Ham at Anfield.
