Chelsea Transfer Update: Ben Chilwell Signs with Crystal Palace, While Carney Chukwuemeka and Joao Felix Secure Transfers
Chelsea Transfer News: Chilwell, Chukwuemeka, and Felix on the Move
Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell has joined Crystal Palace on loan until the summer. Carney Chukwuemeka has completed a loan move to Borussia Dortmund, while Joao Felix is nearing a loan transfer to AC Milan, with the Italian side obligated to buy the forward next season.
Chilwell, who has only made one appearance for Chelsea this season—coming off the bench during a Carabao Cup victory over Barrow in September—becomes Palace’s second signing of the January window, following Romain Esse’s arrival.
The former Leicester player, who joined Chelsea in August 2020 for £50 million and won the Champions League in 2021, expressed his excitement:
“I’m very excited to be here. Crystal Palace is a club going in a great direction. Seeing the recent results and the way the team’s playing made the decision a no-brainer.”
Chairman Steve Parish praised Chilwell’s signing, saying:
“Ben brings experience at the highest levels of European and international football. We’re delighted to have him, and we believe he’ll be a fantastic addition.”
Dortmund Sign Chukwuemeka on Loan
Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of Carney Chukwuemeka on loan from Chelsea, with an option to make the move permanent.
The young midfielder, who has featured in 37 Premier League games and scored one goal, shared his enthusiasm:
“I’m really excited and blessed to be here. I can’t wait to play at Signal Iduna Park and contribute to the team’s success.”
Felix Set for Milan Move
Joao Felix is on the brink of finalizing a loan transfer to AC Milan, with the club obligated to purchase him this summer.
Felix has arrived in Italy for his medical, with Chelsea expected to receive a £5 million loan fee while Milan covers his wages. Since rejoining Chelsea from Atletico Madrid for £45 million in August, Felix has scored seven goals in 20 matches.
