Boban Says Capello Accurately Predicted Barcelona vs Inter Outcome.
Boban Reveals Capello Predicted 3-3 Draw Between Barcelona and Inter While Score Was 2-0
Zvonimir Boban has revealed that Fabio Capello correctly predicted the thrilling 3-3 draw between Barcelona and Inter—even while the Italian side held a 2-0 lead in the first half.
Inter looked in control early at the Camp Nou, with quickfire goals from Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries. However, Barcelona hit back before the break through Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres. In the second half, Dumfries struck again, but a Yann Sommer own goal ensured the match ended level.
“It was a spectacular, extraordinary game,” Boban told Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by Corriere dello Sport. “When Inter were leading 2-0, and seeing how Barcelona were playing, Mr. Capello turned to me and said, ‘This will finish 3-3.’ He called it right then and there.”
Both Boban and Capello were on punditry duty for Sky Sport Italia during the match. The pair share a rich history, having won the Champions League together at AC Milan in 1994, when Capello’s Rossoneri famously beat Barcelona 4-0 in the final in Athens.
The decisive second leg of the semifinal will be played at San Siro on Tuesday, May 6.
