CONFIRMED: Trent Alexander-Arnold seals move to Real Madrid.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly finalized an agreement to join Real Madrid on a free transfer when his Liverpool contract expires in July. The England international has been linked with a move to Los Blancos for over a year, and the Spanish giants have now come to a full agreement with his representatives.
According to Sky Sports reporter Sacha Tavolieri, Alexander-Arnold’s switch to the Santiago Bernabéu is now officially “settled.” The 26-year-old has agreed on personal terms with Carlo Ancelotti’s side and is expected to sign a five-year contract.
The move is being described as a “done deal,” with confirmation that Alexander-Arnold will join Real Madrid in the summer.
Despite Liverpool’s attempts to persuade the England international to extend his long-term stay at Anfield, Alexander-Arnold has set his sights on a move to Madrid.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Move to Real Madrid
Alexander-Arnold will become the sixth English player in Real Madrid’s storied history, joining the ranks of Laurie Cunningham, Steve McManaman, David Beckham, Michael Owen, Jonathan Woodgate, and Jude Bellingham.
He is expected to compete with Dani Carvajal for the starting right-back role, though Alexander-Arnold is likely to be the club’s preferred choice in that position come next season.
The Liverpool defender will depart Anfield after a 21-year association with the club, and the Reds are reportedly targeting Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen as a potential replacement.
During his time at Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold made 349 first-team appearances, scoring 22 goals, providing 87 assists, and winning eight major trophies. His current Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is €53.4 million.
