“Let the Fans Dream!” – Anthony Elanga Keeps Nottingham Forest’s Champions League Hopes Alive Following Stunning 7-0 Victory Over Brighton
Anthony Elanga Fuels Nottingham Forest Fans’ Champions League Dreams
Anthony Elanga is urging Nottingham Forest supporters to dream big about the prospect of Champions League football next season.
The Swedish winger was a nightmare for Brighton’s defense as Forest delivered a stunning 7-0 thrashing of the Seagulls. Surprising many in the Premier League this season, Forest sit third in the table, just six points behind leaders Liverpool. Elanga, who contributed three assists in Saturday’s demolition, is beginning to believe European nights may be within reach.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Elanga said: “It’s all about the attitude from the lads. We wanted to start on the front foot, and we did. Then we said, ‘Let’s keep pushing for more.’ We know how it felt last week, and we wanted Brighton to feel the same.”
He continued: “It’s always great to contribute. You saw me still running at the end because I wanted a goal. I told Chris [Wood] at halftime, ‘Let’s keep pushing for more.’ I’m happy he got the hat trick. The most important thing is we won—and we did that.”
Addressing Forest’s European ambitions, Elanga added: “We have to take it game by game and not get complacent. Hard work is key, and we’ll let our football do the talking while the fans keep believing.”
Forest’s Champions League hopes are boosted by strong performances from English clubs in Europe this season. With England currently topping UEFA’s coefficient rankings, the Premier League could receive an extra Champions League spot, even if Forest drop two places.
Next up, Forest face Exeter in the FA Cup fourth round on February 11 before resuming league action against Fulham. Elanga will be eager to maintain his strong form and continue leading Forest’s push toward European football.
