Two more Real Madrid stars to miss international duty through injury
Real Madrid’s list of players heading off for international duty this week has shrunk further due to injuries.
The club has already confirmed that star forwards Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior will miss out on joining the France and Brazil squads. Dani Carvajal has also been ruled out of Spain duty after suffering a season-ending knee injury.
Mbappe requested extra time to recover from a hamstring issue, while Vinicius Jr sustained a neck injury during Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Villarreal. Reportedly, Didier Deschamps is frustrated that Mbappe played in that game despite concerns over his fitness, while Brazil accepted Real Madrid’s decision without summoning Vinicius Jr for assessment.
According to Marca, further withdrawals include goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who will miss Ukraine’s matches against Georgia and Czechia due to a virus. Defender Eder Militao, who flew to Brazil, is expected to return immediately to Madrid due to a muscle strain, with no risks taken after his September injury.
Elsewhere, Jude Bellingham has rejoined the England squad after missing out last month due to injury.
